PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the surface hardness of a coating film and to certainly prevent the damage of the coating film without losing the original quality feeling or feel of a base material by the heat insulating properties, abrasion resistance, high hardness and transparency of hollow particles consisting of a silica shell. SOLUTION: Since the coating film 3A is formed along the surface unevenness of a Japanese cypress board 2 and this coating film 3A containing the hollow particles 4 consisting of the silica shell has no gloss, the Japanese cypress brand 1 having the coating film 3A formed on its surface is not changed in its appearance and feel and the abrasion resistance of the board 2 as wood can be enhanced by the abrasion resistance and high hardness of the hollow particles 4 consisting of the silica shell. Further, by forming the coating film 3A on the surface of the board 2, the fire retardancy of the board 2 can be enhanced by the heat insulating properties of the hollow particles 4 consisting of the silica shell.
