PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organically treated filler with which the organically treated filler (intercalation compound) prepared by intercalating a functional organic compound into a layer substance can be produced in a simple step. SOLUTION: The layer substance (a) is subjected to contact mixing with a Lewis acid or an acid adduct (b) composed of an organic electron donor and a proton donor and the functional organic compound (c) to intercalate the functional organic compound (c) into the layer substance (a).
