PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound reproducing robot for controlling a driving mechanism based on a sound outputted in response to personality and a taste characteristic of a user. SOLUTION: This sound reproducing robot has: a genre analyzing part 36 analyzing a genre from an outputting sound data train; a behavior pattern data storage part 15 storing data on a plurality of behavior patterns realized by the driving mechanism 11; a buffer processing part 34 successively storing the outputting sound data train; a sound analyzing part 35 extracting a characteristic quantity on the sound including a tempo and/or the peak from the sound data train stored in the buffer processing part 34; and a driving mechanism control part 12 controlling the driving mechanism 11 based on the data on the behavior pattern acquired from the behavior pattern data storage part 15, based on a genre analyzing result of the genre analyzing part 36 and changing control to the driving mechanism 11 based on this data in response to input of the characteristic quantity extracted by the sound analyzing part 35.
