Energy conversion apparatus using a free spherical rotor with recessed portions and a permanent magnet

A rotor includes at least one substantially recessed portion and at least one spherical portion. The spherical portion forms a first half of the rotor and the recessed portion forms a second half of the rotor. The weight of the spherical portion and the weight of the substantially recessed portion are adapted to place the centre of mass of the rotor at an equal distance to all points on the surface of the spherical portion of the rotor. The rotor may further include at least one magnet. An energy conversion apparatus includes at least one rotor. The rotor is adapted to rotate with a substantially circular motion within a housing.
