PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and surely process cutting chips, while preventing chipping of a breaker wall surface, in a cutting insert of forming the periphery of a cutting edge corner part out of a cBN sintered body and forming a chip breaker in a chamfer part formed in this corner part. SOLUTION: The periphery of a corner part C of a cutting edge 5 of an insert body 1 is formed of the cBN sintered body 9B. The chamfer part 6 is formed along the cutting edge 5 in this corner part C. The chip breaker 10 is formed in this chamber part 6. Its breaker wall surface 10B has a pair of both end breaker walls 11 turning to the of the corner part C while mutually approaching from both ends of the chip breaker 10 in a plan view opposed to a breaker bottom surface 10A, and a front breaker wall 12 continuing with the tip side of the corner part C of these both end breaker walls 11 and extending in parallel to the tangent M direction on the tip of this corner part C.
