The invention relates to providing information on services and/or activities to a user (102) of a wireless terminal device (101). A system according to the invention comprises positioning means for defining a location of a wireless terminal device, a service database (104) for storing service data items associated with the services, and a server (103). The server is arranged to perform the following operations: to select service data items from the service database on the basis of the location of the wireless terminal device and of a profile data item associated with the user of the wireless terminal device and to transmit the selected service data items to the wireless terminal device. The invention makes it possible to provide information on services and/or activities in such a way that prevailing conditions can be taken into account in a versatile manner.
