发明名称 Improvements in and relating to indexing in colour television receivers
摘要
895,772. Colour television tubes. SYLVANIA-THORN COLOUR TELEVISION LABORATORIES Ltd. Oct. 1, 1958 [Oct. 11, 1957; Dec. 17, 1957], Nos. 31902/57 and 39233/57. Class 39(1) [Also in Group XL(b)] Cross modulation between an indexing signal from a colour television screen and the luminance and chrominance signals is prevented by using two sets of index stripes in association with the colour groups of the screen, there being m indexing stripes of the first set associated with N colour groups (where m and N are different and integral) and the indexing stripes of the second set are at a spacing of N/m times that between the indexing stripes of the first. In this way phase ambiguity of the index signals is avoided. The second set of stripes may be out of or in the picture producing area of the screen. When as in the first case the second set of indexing stripes are used as "run-in" stripes i.e. outside the picture producing area of the screen, the screen may comprise a glass plate 30, Fig. 11, coated with colour phosphors R, G, B the spaces between which are half-filled, as shown, with an opaque non-fluorescent guard band 58, every alternate half filled space being provided with index stripes I, which emits U-V light, and a protective layer 60 transparent to U-V light such as silver or chromium, a magnesium oxide is provided. In another form the glass screen is coated with phosphors spaced as before, the metal layer is then directly applied over the phosphors and the index stripes are coated on top of the aluminium metal layer, i.e. on the side of the coating nearer the gun. The index stripes may be of calcium aluminium silicate activated by cerium. In the arrangement where the index stripes are arranged in the picture producing area of the screen S, Fig. 1, spaced colour phosphors R, G, B are arranged on the screen and in every fourth space is arranged an index stripe A 1 , whilst on every B phosphor is arranged an index stripe A 2 . In order to distinguish the signals from the two sets of stripes A 1 A 2 both may have different secondary coefficients or, one set may photoemissive the other secondary electron emissive or, they may both be photoemissive in different regions of the spectrum. In another form of screen arranged to ensure that the index stripes do not overlay one another, they are made not more than half as wide as the spaces between the colour phosphors the stripes A 1 lying to the right of a colour phosphor in every fourth space the stripes A 2 lying to the left of each G phosphor. Specifications 822,552, 895,771 and U.S.A. Specification 2,715,155 are referred to.
