<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately inflate and deploy a side airbag even if a gap between a vehicle door and an occupant's side part is narrow when the large side airbag integrally provided with a chest part bag and a waist part bag is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: The side airbag 18 is integrally provided with a bag lower part 18A for protecting the waist part of an occupant and a bag upper part 18B for protecting the occupant's chest part. One end part 52A of a strap 52 is fixed to a front end upper part side 18C of the side airbag 18, and the other end part 52B of the strap 52 is fixed to a front end lower end part 18D. An intermediate part 52C of the strap 52 is hung around connection rods 26, 34 and a reclining rod 36. Therefore, when the side airbag 18 is inflated and deployed to a seat front side, deployment force F1 is converted to a drawing-in force F2 for drawing in the lower end part of the side airbag 18 toward a seat lower side by the strap 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
