PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus reducing a time phase difference between scan cross sections and performing optimum MPR scan in real time. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises: a two-dimensional array probe formed by two-dimensionally arraying a plurality of ultrasonic elements; a transmission means for transmitting ultrasonic waves from the two-dimensional array probe to the plurality of cross sections of an object; a reception means for receiving reflected ultrasonic waves from the inside of the object; a transmission/reception sequence for controlling the timing of transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves alternately to/from the plurality of cross sections of the object; a control means for controlling the transmission and reception to/from the plurality of cross sections of the object on the basis of the transmission/reception sequence; an image generation means for generating ultrasonic images on the basis of information from the reception means; and a display means for displaying the ultrasonic images generated by the image generation means in real time.
