PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an on-vehicle LED unit drive circuit capable of enhancing conspicuity of a vehicle signal lighting fixture with respect to a driver of a following vehicle and of securely drawing his/her attention when an LED unit is mounted on the vehicle signal lighting fixture. SOLUTION: The drive circuit 3 having an electric current control circuit 2 for transiently controlling a drive current of the LED unit 1 is connected to the LED unit 1, and a vehicle side electric power supply source for supplying an electric current to the LED unit 1 or stopping the supply of the electric current to the LED unit 1 is connected to the drive circuit 3. At start of current application, the drive current of the LED unit 1 becomes a maximum value. Then, the drive current is gradually decayed and returned to a steady value. Along with this, at start of the drive current application, the LED unit 1 temporarily flashes, to enhance conspicuity of the vehicle signal lighting fixture with respect to a driver of a following vehicle.
