PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack for specimen container weight-reduced and precisely processed in a desired shape in conformity with the shape of an apparatus, the rack for specimen container is mounted thereon. SOLUTION: The rack for specimen container includes at least one first sponge layer and a positioning determining means positioning the rack for specimen container on an apparatus, the rack for specimen container is mounted thereon. The first sponge layer has rigidity. It is preferable for the first sponge layer to have sufficient rigidity to stably fix the rack for specimen container at the accurate position of such an apparatus as an auto specimen-dispensing machine or the like.
