PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display having excellent reliability and productivity and high resolution. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is provided with gate electrode wiring 2 formed on a transparent insulating substrate 1, a gate insulating film 3 covering the gate electrode wiring 2, a semiconductor layer 10 formed on the gate insulating film 3, a source electrode 6b, source wiring 6a and a drain electrode 7 which are formed on the semiconductor layer 10 and a pixel electrode 9 connected to the drain electrode 7. In the semiconductor layer 10, a TFT part 10b which constitutes a TFT, a source/gate crossing part 10a formed in a region where the source wiring 6a and the gate electrode wiring 2 cross each other and a connection part 10c connecting the TFT part 10b and the source/gate crossing part 10a to each other are integrally formed and the whole connection part 10c of the semiconductor layer and a part on the connection part 10c side of the source/gate crossing part 10a are covered by the source electrode 6b and the source wiring 6a.
