PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bundling method and a system for a long product which can increase the overall production rate of a bundling system. SOLUTION: The system which bundles a long steel product is equipped with a roller stand 10 which delivers the product to a receiving station 12 in a lateral direction. Moreover, a cradle 14 is established away from the receiving station 12 in the lateral direction and arranged by being formed so as to receive the product and to stack up in a bundled shape. A stacked section 16 is located between the receiving station 12 and the cradle 14 and a pre-stacked section 18 is located between the stacked section 16 and the receiving station 12. A conveying system 20 is used to advance the product from the receiving station 12 to the pre-stacked section 18 in the lateral direction, the pre-stacked section 18 is arranged by being formed so as to transfer a sub-bundle to the stacked section 16 by stacking the sub-bundle with the stacked layer of the product beforehand in cooperation with the conveying system 20 and the stacked section 16 acts so as to drop the sub-bundle into the cradle 14.
