PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of improving dark contrast and increasing a margin for charged voltage and displaying a clearer white color display. SOLUTION: Each of red, green, and blue phosphor layers 7R, 7G, and 7B includes magnesium oxide including magnesium oxide crystal body having a property of cathode-luminescence emission with a peak of a wavelength range of 200 to 300 nanometers upon excitation by an electron beam as secondary electron emission.
