PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stress deformation due to application of a force to a rotary switch in an electronic component including the rotary switch which partially protrudes from a casing of electronic equipment. SOLUTION: An electronic component having the rotary switch device is provided with a rotary switch device (20) configured so as to partially protrude from a casing of electronic equipment, a rotary-switch-device holding part (100) for holding the rotary switch device (20), a flat-plate part having a flat-plate shape, a first joint (21) provided on the outer periphery of the flat-plate part, and second joints (40, 50, and 60) located below the rotary-switch-device holding part (100). The electronic component is also provided with a base part (30), to which the rotary switch device (20) is rotatably mounted, and a substrate (35) that is joined to the base part (30) with the first joint (21) and the second joints (40, 50, and 60).
