PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping device of new structure capable of exhibiting an excellent vibration damping effect even against low-frequency large-amplitude vibration input to a vibration damping member of large mass, maintaining a compact size and excellent durability. SOLUTION: A metal leaf spring 16 is extended from a mass member 14 in the horizontal direction on both sides, and fitted to a vibration member 20. A rotating member 18 allowed to be rotated around one shaft is disposed in a fitting part 74 of the leaf spring 11 to any one of the mass member 14 and the vibration member 20 so as to allow rotation of the rotating member 18 in the moment applying direction when the mass member 14 is displaced by vibration to be damped.
