PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat responding steam trap in which a metal ion adhered to a valve hole can be removed without forming an orifice hole having a small open area on the downstream side of the valve hole. SOLUTION: The heat responding steam trap comprises an inlet 2, a valve chamber 4 and an outlet 3 in a casing comprising a main body 1 and a lid member 5. A valve seat member 7 having the valve hole 6 is disposed between the valve chamber 4 and the outlet 5. A temperature control element 8 comprising an expansion medium 14 hermetically sealed in a wall member 10 and a diaphragm member 13, and between both the members, and a valve member 15 connected to the valve seat member 7 side of the diaphragm member 13 are disposed in the valve chamber 4. A valve rod 22 positioned in the valve hole 6 of the valve seat member 7 is fixed and connected to the lower end center of the valve member 15. A spiral notch 23 is provided on the outer surface of the valve rod 22. The metal ion adhered to the surface of the valve hole 6 is removed by the valve rod 22 displacing vertically following the opening and closing displacement of the valve member 15, or a swirling flow of a discharged fluid swirling and passing through the valve body 6.
