PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and accurately calculate output convergence value. SOLUTION: Input to the engine system is set with changing from an initial value to a plurality of set values IN1, IN2,... in order, after input to the engine system is set to an initial value IN0 and the engine system gets in a stable state, and output from the engine system at that time is detected successively. Reference waste time tdR which is waste time during which input is changed from the initial value IN0 to a first set value IN1 is calculated based on output. Output convergence value when input is the second set value IN2 is calculated based on output from a point when only reference waste time tdR elapses after change of the input to the second set value IN2 to a point when only reference waste time tdR elapses after change of the input to the third set value IN3.
