<p>Disclosed is a method of treating alopecia areata using a compound having the formula:(I), wherein R<SUB>1</SUB> is C<SUB>10-</SUB>C<SUB>24</SUB> alkenyl; R<SUB>2</SUB> is H, C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>6 </SUB>alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl, where any aryl moiety may be unsubstituted or substituted by nitro, cyano, halo, hydroxyl, NR<SUB>6</SUB>R<SUB>7</SUB>, or CR<SUB>8</SUB>R<SUB>8</SUB>NR<SUB>6</SUB>R<SUB>7</SUB>, where R<SUB>6</SUB>, R<SUB>7</SUB>, and R<SUB>8</SUB> each independently is H or C<SUB>1-</SUB>C<SUB>6</SUB> alkyl; and R<SUB>3 </SUB>and R<SUB>4</SUB> each independently is H or C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>6</SUB> alkyl, or R<SUB>3</SUB> and R<SUB>4</SUB> together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-7 membered heterocyclic saturated ring optionally containing an additional N or O, which is unsubstituted or substituted by C<SUB>1-</SUB>C<SUB>6</SUB> alkyl, or an enantiomer or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound.</p> |
