PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing device for reducing a load on user's viewing, and to provide the method. SOLUTION: The video reproducing device includes: a means 103 for storing video data and a video time stamp by association; a means 102 for storing related information and a related time stamp by association; a means 101 for obtaining the reproduction video data to be reproduced, the video time stamp of the reproduction video data, the related information and the related time stamp from respective storage means; a means 104 for measuring the amount of information of the video data by each obtained video time stamp; a means 105 for detecting a section with the smallest amount of information of video data, based on the measured amount of information; a means 105 for changing the related time stamp, thereby presenting the obtained related information to the section with the smallest amount of information; means 106, 107 for presenting the video data and the related information, based on the changed related time stamp and the obtained video time stamp.
