PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect torque with satisfactory reproducibility and high sensitivity in a manner noncontact with a rotary shaft. SOLUTION: A magnetic core 1 comprises a plate-like back yoke part 2 and two leg-like yoke parts 3. Bottom surfaces 4 of the two leg-like yoke parts 3 each comprise two kinds of surfaces of first and second surfaces 4a and 4b. The first surface 4a is substantially parallel to the surface of the plate-like back yoke part 2. The second surface 4b is inclined from the first surface 4a. Because the second surface 4b is provided so that the bottom surface 4 approaches the rotary shaft detecting the torque, the angle of inclination corresponds to the surface shape of the rotary shaft detecting the torque using the magnetic core.
