The device has a fuel injection valve which injects fuel directly in the combustion chamber. A variable valve mechanism-control unit regulates the two valve mechanism. A fuel injection-control unit regulates the fuel injection valve for injecting fuel in a time span in which the flow rate of the intake air is high, directly after the intake valve (105) opens. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling intake of a combustion engine.
