<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and image forming method, wherein a presentation URL is effectively used by dynamically changing the presentation URL and notifying an apparatus user of the change from an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A whole control part 51 instructs a retrieval protocol control part 54 to perform advertisement, and the retrieval protocol control part 54 advertises apparatus information to a PC. The PC receiving the advertisement acquires an apparatus profile by an HTTP control part 53. The HTTP control part 53 requests the whole control part 51 to acquire a profile. The whole control part 51 acquires the profile by an apparatus profile storing part 55 and outputs a profile response instruction to the HTTP control part 53.
