PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it takes time before actual transfer processing is performed since an imaging apparatus is connected to a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protcol) server to confirm validity of an IP address when the imaging apparatus is restored from a sleep state. SOLUTION: A lease period distributed from the DHCP server is stored, when the imaging apparatus is restored from the sleep state, difference between actual time when the device actually acquires the IP address with actual time where the device is restored from a power saving mode is compared inside the device and when the lease period remains, connection to the DHCP server is not performed.
