PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which is easy to operate and is compact. SOLUTION: The recording method in the recording device is provided with a step 21 receiving instruction of recording start from an instruction means, step 22 to 26, 29, 30 in which it is discriminated whether each external storage means connected through a connection means satisfies the prescribed recording start conditions for starting recording by the recording means or not, and step 27, 28, 31 in which recording by the recording means is started based on a signal from the prescribed signal source for each external storage means in which such discrimination is performed that the recording start conditions by the discrimination means is satisfied in accordance with instruction of recording start received by the instruction means.
