PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine, preventing leakage of an odor due to remaining drink in an empty container. SOLUTION: This automatic vending machine includes an empty container storing region 11 provided to be isolated from the interior of a box in a body cabinet 1 of the automatic vending machine, and an empty container throw-in port 70, which is provided on an outer door 2 for opening and closing the front opening of the body cabinet 1 to communicate to the empty container storing region 11. The empty container storing region 11 is provided with an empty container recovery box 17 including a recovery box body 15, the top face of which is opened and a lid 16 for covering the opening of the recovery box body 15. The lid 16 includes: a container recovery hole 163 located in a position opposite to the empty container throw-in port 70 of the outer door 2; and an opening and closing door 164 pushed open by the thrown-in empty container, wherein the opening and closing door is energized to always close the container recovery hole 163 so that the empty container recovery box 17 is kept in the normally closed state. Thus, the bad smell due to the remaining drink in the empty container can be prevented from leaking from the empty container recovery box 17. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
