PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-impact resistance liquid crystal display device by preventing a partial peeling of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A cavity is arranged on a position of a spacer 4, which is inserted between an extension 13 of a glass substrate 11A and a backlight unit 2, facing a driver chip 5. Even when an external force is applied to the device and a circuit substrate 6 and the backlight unit 2 are bent, the effect of the bending on the liquid crystal panel 1 and the driver chip 5 are reduced with the aid of the cavity. Consequently the liquid crystal display device 10 is structured in such a way that there is no partial peeling of the liquid crystal panel 1, and the liquid crystal display device 10 is made high-impact resistance.
