PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that the coverage area of the IR (infrared) remote controller is limited and a lot of labor and time to change the setting of the display contents is required when the display device is mounted at a high position such as a pole, in the conventional display device capable of changing the setting of display contents by a signal from an IR remote controller. SOLUTION: The display device is constituted so that a photodetecting unit 20 is provided with of a first unit 20a and a second unit 20b, the first unit 20a is provided with a photodetecting section 25 which receives the signal from the remote controller and a gear section 36, and the second unit is provided with a worm gear 32 and a worm wheel 33 and the worm wheel 33 is rotated by a driver 40, by which the first unit 20a is cooperatively rotated through the worm gear 32.
