PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide body which is used as an image guide and has superior flexibility even through the number of pixels in an image to be transmitted is large. SOLUTION: The external shape of an optical waveguide body 1 is columnar or a line shape having a circular cross section. When the cross section which is parallel to an xy plane is observed, a plurality of regions A has a high refractive index, is surrounded by regions B to D and arranged in a grid shape. The regions A to D are extended along a z axis direction. The refractive index of the region A is larger than the refractive index of each of the regions B and C.
