PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a step holder and easily achieve two-tone color. SOLUTION: In this step device, a resin holder cover 17 is integrally provided in a front part of the metallic pillion step holder 16, and the periphery is fitted along a step wall 64 of the pillion step holder 16. By engagement from the front side by lock parts 56a, 56b, 56c and screwing of a mounting boss 58 to a mounting projection 67 by a tapping screw on the back side, the holder cover 17 and the pillion step holder 16 are subassembled and integrated as if the holder cover 17 were a continuous portion of the pillion step holder 16. The front part of the pillion step holder 16 superposed on the holder cover 17 is a notch-shaped front edge part 16b, to contribute to weight reduction.
