PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for an liquid jet head, which enables the easy and sure detection of leakage caused, for example, by the formation of a crack between a chain of liquid channels ranging from a plurality of reservoirs to a nozzle opening via each pressure chamber. SOLUTION: In this inspection method for inspecting the leakage between two adjacent systems of ink channels of an inkjet recording head 1, negative pressure acts on the reservoir 6a of one ink channel via a pipeline 5 in the blocked state of the nozzle opening 25; the other liquid channels are preopened to the atmosphere; a flow rate of air flowing through the pipeline 5 along with the action of the negative pressure is measured; the flow rate of the air at a time point after a lapse of predetermined time from the time point of start of suction of gas in the one liquid channel by the action of the negative pressure is measured; and the presence or absence of the leakage between the liquid channels of the two systems by comparing a measurement value with a predetermined threshold is detected.
