THERMOSETTING RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING RUBBERY POLYMER PARTICLE DISPERSED THEREIN, AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

Disclosed is a thermosetting resin composition having a rubbery polymer particle dispersed therein, which hardly causes the precipitation of the rubbery polymer particle for a long period, has excellent fluidability, is easy to be cured and molded, has improved strength, and can exhibit the properties of the thermosetting resin satisfactorily. The thermosetting resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermosetting resin and 1 to 80 parts by weight of a rubbery polymer particle, wherein the rubbery polymer particle is dispersed in the form of a primary particle, and wherein the thermosetting resin composition has a solid content of 60 to 90 wt% and a water content of 3 wt% or less. Also disclosed is a process for producing the thermosetting resin composition on an industrial scale and with high efficiency while maintaining the rubbery polymer particle in a stable state. The process comprises a concentration step for degassing a gas phase adjacent to a mixed solution comprising a rubbery polymer particle, a thermosetting resin, water and an organic solvent and reducing the pressure in the gas phase to reduce the amounts of the water and the organic solvent in the mixed solution.
