PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible polyester fiber cord for reinforcing a hose, which has good adhesiveness with an EPDM rubber, and improves the processability at the production of the hose. SOLUTION: The polyester fiber cord for reinforcing the hose is obtained by imparting a treating agent containing a resorcin-formaldehyde-rubber latex (RFL) and a chloro-modified resorcin (P) to a polyester fiber having a polyepoxide compound previously imparted thereto. The RFL treating agent satisfies the following conditions: (A) R/F=1/0.5 to 1/3 (by mol); (B) RF/L=1/3 to 1/15 (by weight); (C) P/RFL=1/1 to 1/5 (by weight); and (D) the aging time of RF is 4-8 hr.
