PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rapidly decomposing a hardly decomposable oroganohalogen compound by finding out a means accelerating the decomposition treatment of the hardly decomposable oroganohalogen compound to use the same. SOLUTION: When the hardly decomposable oroganohalogen compound is dehalogenated in the presence of alkali to be detoxified, it is diluted using regenerated insulating oil.
