PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyarylene sulfide film having excellent heat resistance, dimensional stability, electrical properties and planarity, particularly, that capable of giving capacitors highly reliable even if used at high temperatures and high voltages, due to having excellent electrical properties and self-restorability (SH property) when used therefor, to provide a metallized film thereof, and to provide such a capacitor using the same. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyarylene sulfide film is composed of a polyarylene sulfide and another thermoplastic resin A different from a polyarylene sulfide. In this film, the thermoplastic resin A forms a dispersed phase due to a compatibilizer, wherein the average diameter of the dispersed phase is 100-900 nm, and the number of inert particles having a particle diameter of 1μm or larger is less than 100/1 mm<SP>2</SP>.
