PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitter capable of flexibly dealing with various electronic apparatuses in a very wide range by flexibly adjusting power transmission power of a single power transmitter so as to adapt to a rated power of the devices of a power receiver side in a non-contact power transmission system. SOLUTION: In authentication before start of usual power transmission, a power receiver 40 transmits authentication information (start code 1, manufacturer ID2, product ID3, information 4 about rated power and information 5 about resonant characteristic) to a power transmitter 10, and the power transmitter 10 authenticates an apparatus and adjusts the maximum transmission power so as to adapt to the rated power of the receiver side and executes usual power transmission.
