PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of achieving highly stable focus pull-in in a short time even if an NA an optical system rises. SOLUTION: When an objective lens 23 is approached to an optical disk 1 for a focus pull-in operation, a moving speed of the objective lens 23 is set to a relatively high value until the objective lens 23 reaches a speed-changing position determined based on disk position information, and the moving speed of the objective lens 23 is set to a relatively low value after the objective lens 23 passes the speed-changing position. The speed-changing position is set to a position away from the optical disk 1 compared with a position of the objective lens 23 when the focus of light beam 23 is located on the information recording layer 1A of the optical disk 1.
