PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a magnetic recording device where, when a magnetic film by an electroplating process is produced, the growth of the magnetic film is fact, and also, the formation of abnormal deposition is prevented. SOLUTION: Regarding the method for producing a magnetic recording device where a magnetic film 13 is formed on a substrate 11 of the body 1 to be plated by a plating process, the production method for a magnetic recording device comprises: a deposition stage of depositing the magnetic film 13; and a melting stage of removing abnormal deposition 14 generated in the magnetic film 13. Using a DC plating process having high productivity, the magnetic film 13 is deposited and grown, and the abnormal deposition 14 which frequently occurs is removed.
