摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a machine tool having a workpiece reference position setting function capable of setting a center coordinate of the workpiece as a reference position. SOLUTION: The workpiece symmetrical to two lines in which machined surfaces are perpendicularly intersected is arranged to make a mechanical coordinate system axis and two lines parallel on the machine tool where a movable shaft is supported by a fluid bearing. The pointed head of a stylus of a probe of an in-machine measuring device is brought into contact with the workpiece through both sides of the workpiece along the first line parallel to two lines. The contact state is detected by increase of a position deviation. The coordinate at the time of the contact is memorized (S2-S11). The coordinates at the time of the contacts are memorized by making the probe move along the second line parallel to two lines (S12-S21). The coordinate of the intermediate point respectively measured on the first and second lines is a workpiece center coordinate. The workpiece center coordinate is set up to be the workpiece reference position (S22). Consequently, the workpiece reference position can be simply set up. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
