PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of improving utilization efficiency of light irradiated from a light source, while maintaining the amount of electromagnetic wave leaking from the light source device to the outside to be a prescribed regulated value or less, and to provide a projection type display device equipped with the same.

SOLUTION: The light source device 1 is provided with an electrodeless discharge lamp 2 which discharges to emit light by making a high frequency current flow and has an optical integrator 3 including a first lens array 21 and a conductive aluminum thin film 21c installed along the ineffective area 21b of the first lens array 21 arranged in a case 5.
