PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the weight of a roll stand, and to easily carry out the manufacture, the carrying-in/out work, and the maintenance and repairing work of the roll stand. SOLUTION: The roll stand 3 comprises a plurality of roll units 5 having a pair of pinch rolls 2, and a common frame 4 for supporting a plurality of the roll units 5 arranged in a row. The respective roll units 5 have a pair of side frames 50 arranged on the common frame 4 so as to project in the state positioned on both end sides of a pair of pinch rolls 2, a beam member 55 for connecting the tip end portions of a pair of the side frames 50 projecting from the common frame 4, and a pair of the pinch rolls 2, and further have a roll pivotally mounting mechanism 61 for pivotally supporting a pair of the pinch rolls 2 between a pair of the side frames 50 so as to approach to and separate from each other.
