PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which has good storage stability and is reduced in the amount of organic solvents without deteriorating coating film performances such as adhesion and water resistance. SOLUTION: The coating composition comprises an acrylic resin (A), a cellulose derivative (B) and a non-aqueous polymer fine particle dispersion (C), where the non-aqueous polymer fine particle dispersion (C) is obtained by copolymerizing vinyl monomers (b) in the presence of a macromonomer (a) having a structure represented by formula (1) at its molecular end, obtained by radical-polymerizing ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of 2,4-diphenyl-4-methyl-1-pentene, in an organic solvent which dissolves the macromonomer (a) and the vinyl monomers (b) but does not substantially dissolve a polymer formed from the vinyl monomers (b).
