<p>The pointer arm (1) pivots on the rotary cable spool (2). It is guided by a fixed support (3). The pointer tip (6) indicates the gear currently selected, on a fixed display area. The fixed support (3) is designed to hold the pointer loosely, whilst allowing sliding and rotation. Variants of the pointer guidance are described, based on the foregoing principles. The design of the pointer arm pivot (5) on the rotary cable spool, in combination with the support, causes the pointer tip to both swing and rise or fall, on changing gear.</p> |
