PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structurally simple device for preventing a fall of an electric shutter, which can surely prevent the fall of the shutter curtain at an opening time when the accidental fall of the shutter curtain tends to most often occur. SOLUTION: A main body frame 21 is fixed to at least either of guide rails 3 for vertically guiding both side parts of the shutter curtain 1. A stopper 30, which can be freely turned in a vertical direction between a protruding position to inhibit the descent of the shutter curtain 1, and a receding position to permit the vertical movement of the shutter curtain 1 by rotating upward, is attached to the main body frame. A stop part 23, which inhibits the downward turning of the stopper by abutting on an undersurface of the stopper in the protruding position, is formed in the main body frame 21. The main body frame 21 is provided with a spring 35 for urging the stopper 30 to turn in the direction of the protruding position, and an electromagnetic solenoid 40 for turning the stopper 30 to the receding position. In the ascent of the shutter curtain 1, the stopper 30 is turned upward by following the shutter curtain, so as to permit the vertical movement. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
