PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management device, data management method and data management program, efficiently duplicating a file. SOLUTION: Multi-function peripheral includes: an HDD having a plurality of storage areas; a receiving means S01, S02 for receiving designation of a duplicating file and designation of a storage area to which duplication is directed; a duplicating means S11 for storing a duplicate file where a file stored in one of the plurality of storage areas is duplicated in another storage area; a link means S10 for storing link information to another storage area for the file stored in one of the plurality of storage areas; and a determination means S05 for determining which is activated, the duplicating means or the link means according to the designation received by the receiving means.
