PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system capable of effectively performing shake stabilization by a shake stabilization part in accordance with the set state or photographing condition of the camera system. SOLUTION: The camera system is provided with: the shake stabilization part that stabilizes image shake; drive parts 40a, 40b, 203a and 203b that drive the shake stabilization part; a position detection part that detects the position of the shake stabilization part; a target position determination part that determines a target position for the shake stabilization part according to the camera shake; calculation parts 10b, 206a and 206b that calculate a drive amount for the drive part on the basis of the target position and the position detected by the position detection part; range of movement limitation parts 20a, 20b, 21a and 21b that limit the position of the shake stabilization part within a certain range of movement; a range setting part that sets a first range that is a range within the range of movement in which the shake stabilization part can be positioned; a changing means that changes the first range after a photographic indication operation by an operator and before photographic processing; and a control means that determines whether or not to change the first range on the basis of the set state or photographing condition of the camera system.
