PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cage for a thrust roller bearing capable of reducing the sliding resistance and reducing the rotating torque when the bearing rotates, and to provide the thrust roller bearing. SOLUTION: This cage for the thrust roller bearing is formed of one annular plate, and rectangular pockets 5 for housing rollers are formed by punching in the thickness direction thereof, and an outer diameter side and an inner diameter side of the inner wall surface of each pocket 5 are provided with projection parts 8 and 9 projecting toward the center of rotation in the axial directional end surface of the roller, giving off-set by a space for movement in the moving direction of the roller 3 in relation to the cross direction of the pocket in rotation of the bearing in one direction.
