PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission capable of enhancing workability when carrying out maintenance besides avoiding an enlargement of an engine unit, and to provide an engine unit equipped with the same. SOLUTION: A transmission equipped with a continuously variable transmission mechanism 17 and an accommodation case (transmission case) 8b for accommodating the continuously variable transmission mechanism 17, keeps in the accommodation case 8b a shift state conversion mechanism 54 for changing a shift state by the continuously variable transmission mechanism 17. A pivotal support member 75 for supporting bearings 72b, 73b, 74b of shafts 61, 62, 63 forming the shift state conversion mechanism 54 is constituted by a member different from a case member (a case body) 8g forming the accommodation case 8b.
