PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a departure prevention device of an elevator capable of preventing departure, even if the elevator travels in a door open state when an abnormality occurs, by projecting a departure prevention plate of a stored state during traveling of the elevator in the door open state for a time from a door opening operation to a door closing operation when the elevator arrives at a landing. SOLUTION: This departure prevention device is provided with a departure prevention means 20 provided to be projected to the landing side of the door 7 of a car 1 and located at a storage position drawn in the door 7 side of the car 1 during traveling of the car 1. In the door open state during a time from starting of the door opening operation up to a door closing operation when the car 1 arrives at the landing, the departure prevention means 20 is projected from the storage position to the landing side, and a part of the departure prevention means 20 is located at a position overlapping landing components on a projection plane.
