PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HVAC system for heating and cooling a passenger compartment of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A first heat exchanger transfers heat between a primary loop and a secondary loop. The primary loop is a reversely rotatable loop, and uses a high pressure refrigerant. A compressor compresses the refrigerant. A second heat exchanger selectively transfers heat energy to the passenger compartment or from the passenger compartment. The secondary loop is a coolant loop, and flows in the first heat exchanger. A pump moves fluid by the secondary loop. A third heat exchanger transfers heat so as to go in and out to an external refrigerant from the fluid flowing in the secondary loop. In a heating mode, a secondary heat source adds heat to the secondary loop. In a cooling mode, a bypass means selectively bypasses the secondary heat source. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
